City With a Soul (The Findery) Mural
501 S 8th St, Waco, TX 76706
- Artist
- Shelby Nickel, revised by Kalyn Dunks
- Description
- After facing some trademark dispute, The Findery mural, originally reading "Waco Feels Like Home", has since been altered by artist Kalyn Dunks to read "City With a Soul". When searching for a new phrase for the mural, Shelby Pipken found inspiration in a 1915 poem by Herman E. Morris reading "I love a virgin city 'with a soul;' Responsive to an altruistic call; Among her fond admires I'd enroll; And urge a 'Greater' Waco to her goal,". This phrase truly does encompass what Waco is about: spirit, passion, and community.
