- Artist: Mick Burson, 2020 The idea behind this mural was inspired by a metaphor in the movie Field of Dreams. This was the beginning of the pandemic and I was thinking a lot about that phrase “You can lead a horse to water but you cant make it drink”. I just kept wishing the horse would take the advice. I was open to recommendations and I was able to understand how important advice and being still is. Also Texas references resurface in Burson's work and he indulge in country themes for a bit. So these two aligned and there are horses drinking water, there is nature and references to its blissfully unaware beauty, there is references to human spaces where a viewer can feel more connected and hopefully investigate further. There are moments that make no sense at all and those are beautiful and the hardest to make, and also the hardest to not cover up in a moment of insecurity. It is a visual journey that speeds up, slows down, and sometimes stands still.
