- Melanie M Stokes is an oil painter, moving to McLennan County from Georgia in 2018. She and her husband live on acreage near Mart, inspiring paintings of big skies in landscapes. With a B.A. in Communications and a M.Ed. in Art Education, she is enjoying pursuing her passion for painting, after 26 years of teaching in Georgia schools. Melanie and her husband, Steve, relocated to be near family and grandchildren here. Juried memberships in Outdoor Painters Society and Professional Artists of Central Texas (PACT) have provided opportunities for group shows and new artist friends.
