Branding the Brazos' Sculptures

- Description
- Artist: Robert Summers, installation completed 2014. This series of one and a half life-sized bronze sculptures depicts longhorns and riders, commemorating Waco’s history as the Brazos River crossing of the Chisholm Trail. The first sculptures were installed in 2008 and depict three vaqueros (cowboys) each representing a different cultural influence on Waco's past and present; Hispanic, African American, and European. The sculptures were commissioned by Cultural Arts of Waco, and funded through private donations led by Waco citizens Betsy and Clifton Robinson.
